Improving reader retention | UX

When designing content platforms you may need to have a feature that breaks up articles into multiple pages. You want them to read the next page right? This may require a next button. Often this is not well emphasized on sites and is a common mistake if you want to increase the likelihood the user will read the full article.


Nothing like a big honking button to say do this.

Take for instance this example from Arstechnica. Despite the big honking button, its designed and hip. See the following link for an example at the bottom of the page:
